Samsung X120 : Price ,Review And Specification

Those after a smart ultraportable may do well to consider Samsung's 11.6-inch X120. Portability is the name of the game here, thanks to the use of re source-lightcomponents, a slim, stylish design, and a claimed nine hours of battery life on offerwhen travelling - assuming you purchase a B-cell battery with the laptop. The LED backlit screen should provide vibrant, accurate colours for your work and play, and the widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio makes the laptop suitable for watching films on, although there's no optical drive to read - or burn - DVDs or CDs.

Performance wise, the CULV [Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) processor should provide enoughpower for your office work, although 3D capabilities will be limited by the integrated GPU, The X120 looks fantastic, with impressive portability to match. Samsung claims that it weighs only 1,4kg and is 25mm in meaning you should have no problem carrying it around all day.

Microsoft Zune HD : Features, Price And Review

After years of trying, has Microsoft finally beat Apple at its own game? Well, not quite. But the fantastic Zune HD certainly gives the iPod touch some worthy competition. The lack of a robust App Store is the only drawback for the Zune HD, which otherwise flauntsa beautiful touch-screen, an excellent user interface, HD radio, and the best browserwe've seen since the Apple's mobile Safari. While the touch is a better touch-screenplayer, the Zune HD is a close second.

A very good-looking gadget, the 16GB Zune HD is Onyx Black and the 32GB version is Platinum Silver. This Zune HD has a smaller, lighter frame than the iPod touch, measuring 4.0 by 2.1 by 0.4 inches (HWD) and weighing just 2,6 ounces. However, the Zune's 3.3-inch OLED screen is noticeably smaller than the touch's 3.5-inch LCD, but video still looks great on it. The touch and Zune HD seem nearly identical in touch screen sensitivity. Microsoft's software updates, however, are still clunkier than Apple's. But once you'reup and running, the software and interface are impressive. Also, the Zune HD supportsonly MP3, WMA, and unprotected AAC files. The best new music feature on the Zune HD is the ability to purchase music wirelessly, thanks to integrated 802.11g. The Zune Marketplace makes it easy to browse for music on the player or your PC, but the Apps section currently has a very limited selection.

Overall, Microsoft has shown Apple that it, too, can make an attractive, easy-to-useplayer. If Microsoft is able to give birth to an App Store that can rival Apple's, then the race could get interesting.

Microsoft Zune HD
Price:
16GB - $219.99
32GB - $289.99

PROS : Gorgeous multi-touch OLED screen. Intuitive user interface with sharp, good looking graphics. Strong Web browser. Wireless music purchasing, downloading, and syncing. HD radio.

CONS : Limited HD video support. Very slim pickings in the App section of the Zune Market place.

3DTV : The Next Generation TV

NOW WE have HDTV, what's next? 3D TV. 3D movies have been taking off at the box office. About 15 major feature films will be released in 3D in 2009, with twice that number set for 2010. HDTV manufacturers are scrambling to support 3DTV Both plasma and 120Hz LCD technology are adaptable to 3DTV using active glasses—not the passive glasses used in most 3D movie theaters. Active glasses use LCD material to block the light first to one eye and then to the other, at very fast rates. By synchronizing them to the content on the HDTV, 3DTV technology can present full-resolution 1080p images sequentially to the left and right eyes, and still have a total frame rate of 60Hz. Other technologies can show 3D images with either passive glasses or no glasses at all, but are too expensive to manufacture or have significant viewing limitations.

One roadblock for 3D content has been the lack of an industry standard, but that's changing
fast. Hollywood already adds depth information to many of its films, and translates this into
different formats that different cinema projection systems use—the RealD system based on
polarized light, for example, or the Dolby system that relies on sophisticated RGB color filters
to create stereoscopic images. Creating a similar "home 3D master" is not that difficult—SMPTE
(an organization of industry engineers) is well on the way to defining such a specification.
Such a master can provide data for a range of display formats. And the Blu-ray Disc Associa-
tion is working on a standard for storing 3D on on prepackaged media. HDTVs can be made to work with a variety of 3D data-stream formats.Down the road, HDTVs should be 3D as well.

SONY NWZ-X1060 : Features, Specification And Review

At one time, Sony's Walkman brand was synonymous with audio players, but in recent years it has run second place to Apple's iPod. The SONY Walkman NWZ-X1060 could see those fortunes reversed.
The first thing you notice is how good SONY NWZ-X1060 looks and how solid it feels. At 98g, it's heavier than the Cowon, but we feel its worthwhile, as it feels as if it'll stand up to some heavy usage. The layout of the function buttons seems arbitrary, but Sony has done a good job, with
volume and noise cancellation buttons on the right-hand side, and a 3.5mm audio socket and Play/Pause, Forward and Reverse buttons neatly together on the top.

The screen is a 3-inch OLED display, while the back of the player is made from scratch-resistant plastic. The touchscreen display is highly responsive and the interface is neatly constructed around a grid pattern, with all functions carried out from the bottom of the screen. Navigating the menu is comfortable and easy. Audio quality is also great. The EQ is easy to get to grips with, but the audio is reasonably balanced even in default settings. The earphones supplied are also of excellent quality, offering noise-cancelling and three different bud sizes.

Sony claims 33 hours of continuous audio playback. The Sony Walkman NWZ-X1060 is an astonishing media player, delivering top-quality audio, video and images. Paired with its great battery life and excellent earphones, this may well be the new benchmark for audio players.

ARCHOS 5 : Price,Review And Features

In terms of storage capacity, a mechanical hard drive is the most cost-effective solution and the Archos 5 comes with a whopping 120GB of storage space. Despite this, Archos 5 is still a svelte and lightweight media player. Archos 5 is also robust and feels great in the hand. Its shiny finish quickly and easily attracts fingerprints, however. With a 4,8-inch screen and 800 X 480 pixel resolution, videos look amazingly crisp and you can watch them in widescreen 16:9 aspect
ratio. The screen's glossy coating increases reflections and offers poor colour balance outdoors. However, it's generally great for entertainment use indoors.

The interface makes the most of the touchscreen panel, but the actual software isn't very intuitive, feeling like a hybrid between older non touchscreen Archos players and this latest generation. A set of earphones, a USB cable with proprietary recharging adapter and documentation are all that is included. This helps keep costs down, but Archos sells a host of accessories, largely based around docking stations that allow you to expand the device's functionality.

Sound quality is more than acceptable, but the supplied earphones are poor The array of pre-installed codecs let you run basic audio and video, but Archos 5 charges extra for all additional codec packs. Where Archos 5 excels is in its versatility. Archos 5 supports flash, so
you can make the most of BBC iPlayer and similar services, courtesy of the built-in Wi-Fi, If you can live without the upgrade options, the Archos 5 is a neat device with good all-round sound and vision.

COWON iAudio S9 : Features, Price And Review

The Cowon iAudio S9 has a simple but elegant design. Based around a 3.3-inch OLED screen, there are no other controls on the front of the device. On the top, two sets of navigation buttons and a Play/Pause control are in place, while the bottom sports a 3.5mm audio jack, power switch and 20-pin connector for connecting to your laptop to charge the device. Build quality has a rather plastic and lightweight feel to it. That said, COWON iAudio S9 proves durable enough for daily use. The screen is bright and easy to navigate and the interface is kept simple, with space for 12 icons on the main screen.

When you first switch on the device, ten icons populate the screen, with Music, Videos and Pictures taking up the top line. You'll also find a built-in FM Radio, support for audio recording and even a Documents folder so you can read text documents. Video clips and photos run extremely smoothly. The touchscreen display has a zoom control at the bottom of each menu page, which comes in handy as several of the pages try to cram in too many options. It's not the most responsive screen, but it is fairly easy to get around.

When it comes to audio quality, COWON iAudio S9 disappoints with the default EQ settings, as
well as the supplied earbuds. But with 26 EQ settings, it's easy to find the right balance,
resulting in a great-sounding, warm audio player. Overall, the COWON iAudio S9 is a decent media player. You won't find an expansion slot in place, but this is otherwise a good .

Toshiba DMF82XKU : Features,Specification And Review

Toshiba DMF82XKU is 8-inch digital picture frame ($180; a 10-inch $230 model is also available) has a sleek design and some useful wireless features. But looks aren't everything: Its menu icons are difficult to decipher, and the interface can be sluggish, making for a frustrating user experience. The chic-looking black frame is accented with a narrow acrylic border (it is also
available in white as the DMF82XWU). Toshiba DMF82XKU 's 1GB of internal memory lets you store plenty of photos and music. It supports SD/SDHC, MultiMediaCard,XD-Picture Card, and Memory Stick or Memory Stick Duo, and it will play content from an inserted card.

As we now expect from a wireless frame, Toshiba's DMF82XKU allows users to access online content from various Web sites, streaming that content via a Frame Channel account that you set up. Like most of its Wi-Fi brethren, the unit must remain tethered to an AC adapter. The frame is heavy, too, with a chunky protrusion on the back, so it really looks best on a desk. To access the DMF82XKU's menu, you can use the included remote. its buttons require a lot of pressure—or the touch-sensitive controls on the frame's right side. Unfortunately, the menu's cryptic icons make operation difficult, and the frame is slow to respond to commands.

The Toshiba DMF82XKU offers calendar and clock views. Slideshows can display with or without music. Images appeared punchy, with high contrast, and photos generally looked sharp, with good detail.

THE NEW MINOHD : Price, Review And Specification

THE SECOND-GENERATION Flip Video MinoHD doesn't represent a huge jump in specs and features, although changes in the new model from the previous version include a doubling in storage capacity (from 4GB to 8GB), revamped video software, an HDMI-out port, and the end of the line for the Pure Digital brand .

The stars of the show are the vastly improved build quality, the unit's best-in-class low-light video, and the sheer aesthetics of the device. Unlike the plasticky, cheap feel of previous Flips,
this one feels a whole lot sturdier and looks a whole lot better . Video quality has improved, as well. Like the first-gen MinoHD, the new model shoots 720p high-definition MPEG-4 video at 30 frames per second; clips are smoother and sharper than those produced by its competitors. Flip cams have traditionally smoked the competition in taking low-light video, and the new MinoHD ups the ante even further: The footage it takes in low-light conditions is clearly at the head of the pocket-camcorder class, rivaling and even surpassing the low-light video of
$1000-and-up HD camcorders.

Similar to earlier models, the new MinoHD has a flip-out USB 2.0 connector, which pops up, switchblade-style, from the top of the device .This is one of two connectors on the device; the new MinoHD has a mini HDMI port on the bottom of the unit for watching videos on an HDTV set, which is another addition over the previous MinoHD. The revamped FlipShare software, which installs and launches when you plug the camcorder into your PC, now supports direct-to-Facebook uploads and adds a feature called MagicMovie that lets you enhance your footage with transitions, music, and more.

The sum of all these parts is arguably the best HD pocket camcorder you can buy now. Although Kodak's 1080p-shooting, digitally stabilized Zi8 is still a notch above the new Flip in bright-
light video quality, frame-rate controls, and overall features, it has some nagging usability issues. The new Flip MinoHD beats it in low-light footage, usability, durability, and design .

HP'S DREAMSCREEN 100 : Features,Specification And Review

With its new DreamScreen, HP expands the digital photo frame concept to include applications normally associated with stand-alone tablets. This 10-inch, $250 model incorporates wireless support for popular apps such as Facebook, Pandora, Snapfish, and HP's own packaging of Net radio stations. Sleek and shiny black, the DreamScreen 100 is better suited for sitting on a desktop than hanging on a wall, due to its weight and the need to keep it plugged in.

Setup was easy, even with the labor of entering passwords and network keys via the remote. The interface is attractive, intuitive, and highly readable. In addition, a CD provides video tutorials and an intuitive desktop program that lets you drag and drop audio, photo, and video files from your PC into the frame's 2GB of internal memory. As other frames do, the DreamScreen lets you program on and off times, and it has both clock and calendar functions.

The screen's display was impressive and crisp. Sound was a strong point: Though you won't get booming bass or extreme clarity, the frame cranks out better audio than most laptops do. The Facebook app lets you view friends' updates and photos, while the Snapfish app shows online albums. HP's radio feature is neat, but navigation is limited adding stations to your favorites list is a chore that involves lots of drilling.

HP ENVY 13 : HP's Slickest Laptop

THE HP ENVY 13 is a PC answer to Apple's MacBook Pro: It's similarly sleek but costs a bit more, starting at $1699 . It comes with a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SL9600 CPU, 3GB of RAM, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 discrete GPU. The laptop is 12.6 by 8.5 by 0.8 inches and weighs 3.1 pounds. It earned a nice WorldBench 6 score of 94. You can play HD video on the crisp, glossy 13.1-inch backlit LED screen—but reflections on it will be distracting. The Envy has hightech Beats audio, but you'll need headphones or earbuds to appreciate it. Though the touchpad's multitouch functionality works, the mouse buttons are poorly placed. The keyboard is fine. The notebook has a couple of USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI out, an SD flash-card reader, and a headphone/mic jack.

Missing are ports for wired ethernet and VGA (you do get Bluetooth and 802.11n Wi-Fi). And it has no optical drive—you must buy an external one (starting at $100 for a DVD-ROM version). A helpful six-cell battery slice goes for another $100.We give HP nods for smart design overall, and a promise of premium support. (You even get a 2GB SDHC card that holds the manual.) The Envy 13 has a lot of eye-catching touches and is a good machine for people who have money to burn.

Asus unveils the stick-thin UX30

Asus is the latest company to release a host of CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) laptops, with the slimline UX30 sitting at the top of its ultraportable range. Unlike the Advent Altro (reviewed on page 6g) - a budget CULV machine - the Asus UX30 uses a range-topping Core 2 Duo SUg4oo chip that promises a mix of power efficiency and dual-core processing. Asus UX30 also allowsthis machine to be incredibly portable-measuring just 24mm at its thickest point and weighing just 1.5kg, The downside is the price which, at £999 (inc, VAT], is likely to be far out of the range of many consumers. It's easy to see where the money has been spent, however, as build quality is fantastic. The brushed-aluminium lid offers a premium finish and the slim chassis is robust.

The keyboard offers excellent usability.Although Asus UX30 doesn't stretch right to the edges of the chassis, the keys are well spaced, with each key protruding through individual holes in the chassis. As such, it's easy to comfortably type at speed The 13.3-inch screen is crisp and offers
great image quality, although the shiny finish proves highly reflective. Features include 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with Gigabit Ethernet, three USB ports, mini VGA and HDMi all in place,
A highly desirable laptop, the UX30's price tag may put off many consumers, but for those in the market for a quality, highly portable machine, it's well worth a look.

3M Pocket Projector MPro120 : A stylish Pico Projector

Pico projectors—defined as small enough to fit comfortably in a shirt pocket—don't qualify as new anymore, but they're still rare. Just try using one in a public space—connecting it to a camera to show a friend some photos, say—and see what happens. You'll quickly find that it's high on the list of gadgets that encourage total strangers to come over and start conversations. That's particularly true of the MPro120, which offers a sleek design, a screw-on tripod with flexible legs, and reasonable image quality that works for both video and data.

The MPro120 is about the size and heft of an electric razor, measuring 1 by 2.4 by 4.7 inches (HWD) and weighing 5.6 ounces. The solid matte black finish and rounded edges give it a decidedly sleek look and feel. Setup is easy, and in addition to the standard VGA/RCA cable, you can buy an optional component video cable (with a cable for iPods and iPhones coming soon).

The MPro120 has a VGA native resolution of 640 by 480 and an LED that's rated for20,000 hours. However, 3M has made a fundamental change in the engine. The first-generation engine used a white LED as a light source, while this new engine uses red, green, and blue LEDs in sequence. The sequential approach is intended to display richer colors, but it also results in a slight rainbow effect, which means the light areas of a moving image can break up into little red-green-blue rainbows. Also, the audio quality and volume limit was lackluster. But you do get good battery life, lasting 4 hours in Normal mode, All told, the Mpro120 is an attractive choice as both a hard-to-resist gadget and a potentially useful tool.

3M Pocket Projector MPro120
PRICE: $350

PROS :Fits in a shirt pocket. Connects to computers and video sources. Rechargeable battery.

CONS :Although brighter than the first-generation version, it's still not very bright. Audio is
barely loud enough to be usable.

Lenovo ThinkPad T400s Multitouch: Review, specification And Review

The T400s Multitouch incites lust among business users. It has the ThinkPad X301's exquisitely thin dimensions, with a 14-inch LED widescreen to boot, It's the lightest business laptop in its class—and that's with the internal optical drive. The latest edition takes advantage of Microsoft's Touch Pack and other touch-friendly applications made for Windows 7 and is, bar
none, the best implementation of a multitouch panel yet on a laptop.

The T400s is considerably thinner than the ThinkPad T400, measuring 13.3 by 9.4 by 1.1 inches (H WD),but weighs a bit more than the original T400s—4.4 pounds versus 3.9. Unfortunately, the T400s had to unload certain features to achieve this thinness; it has only one memory card reader slot and no FireWire port. It does, however, have every wireless technology built-in—3G, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS chip. And hard drive options include a 128GB SSD.But the big story is obviously the new multitouch gestures. By tapping two fingers on the screen, you invoke a series of icons called Simple Tap. You can also customize screen icons for commonly used apps and tasks. Though Simple Tap could be a bit temperamental, otherwise the touch features worked like a charm.

Though finding the right business implementation for the multitouch screen could prove a challenge, this new T400s is nonetheless an exciting look ahead for Windows 7 systems.

Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 Multitouch

Convertible tablets are and will remain specialized products that cater to a certain group of people. Nevertheless, the muititouch LifeBook T5010 is the hallmark of what a tablet user experience should be. Though the design lacks style and the battery life could use some pick up,
it now has dual active displays, which works like this: The pen triggers Wacom's digitized panel, and when you apply a finger (or two),the capacitive touch panel similar to the Apple iPhone's, is activated.

The T5010 retains an older chassis that's just begging for a makeover. While other tablet makers are using 12-inch widescreens, the T5010 opted to use a 13.3-inch screen, one of the biggest for a tablet. The T5010 also has a responsive capacitive touch technology, instead of resistive, so you don't have to apply pressure against the screen. The multi-touch display recognizes up to two fingers, and that means you can pinch and rotate photos, Word documents, Web pages, PDF files, and so on. You also get a free upgrade to Windows 7.

Though pricey and a bit outdated in terms of design, the T5010 is a convertible tablet that gives you three vital tools for data input: a keyboard, a digital pen, and now, muititouch.

AVADirect GT3 : Core i7 Gaming System

Nomad gamers who find themselves rolling from place to place know that portability can be almost as important as performance. The AVADirect GT3 is made for them. This gaming desktop has a compact chassis, yet boasts a full-blown Core 17 quad-core processor and high-powered ATI RadeonHD graphics card. Thanks to its manageable size and reasonable weight, the GT3 is a more practical gaming rig for LAN parties than the humongous speed machines.

The GT3's mostly ABS plastic chassis measures about 15.5 by 4.5 by 12.5 inches (HWD) and uses an internal riser card system that turns the graphics card orientation 90 degrees to fit a full-size graphics card. Because of the cooling needs of a quad-core processor and dual-width graphics card, the very noticeable fans make quite a din. There are also customization options for some of the components but not much room for expansion.

This system was a very good performer on our 3D games test, returning smooth, playable numbers for both Crysis (81 frames per second) and World in Conflict (93 fps) at our standard l,280-by-l,024 resolution. The GT3 also finished our Windows Media Encoder test in 34 seconds. In the niche market of hard-core gamers, the GT3 makes a good argument for buying over building.

SPECS :

2.66-GHz Intel Core i7-920 processor
6GB DDR3 SDRAM
500GB SATA hard drive
ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics
DVD±RW drive
ten USB 2.0 ports

Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit)

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8:Review And Features

Photoshop Elements 8, the super powerful consumer version of its industry-leading Photoshop. With the exception of adding a few new features, Adobe decided not to mess with success. Therefore the interface is largely unchanged. So unless users of Elements 7 really want the new features discussed below, there's not much reason to upgrade. But for those without a photo editor, Elements is the best.

The most exciting new addition is the Recompose Photo tool. This feature lets you resize images with respect to their contents, reducing unused or underused space but keeping the most important parts. It takes some practice to master this feature. The other editing changes are mostly low-key embellishments on functions that already exist. For example, Photomerge now also comprises exposure functionality, letting you blend a series of over- and underexposed photos into one that looks perfectly lit.And Quick Fix previews in Quick Edit mode now let you preview prospective changes before you commit to them. Tags are even easier to use, and the new Auto-Analyzer can automatically apply Smart Tags to your files. There are also the expanded help sections—some with video tutorials.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 remains the best option for consumer photo editing. It offers more than the competition in a package that's as attractive and unthreatening as this kind of software can be.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8
PRICE: standard, $99,99 : Plus.$139.99

PROS : Powerful Photo recomposition feature as amazing as its CS4 counterpart. Tight integration with online services and Premiere Elements 8. Extensive selection of help and tutorials.

MOTOROLA H790 Bluetooth headset:Review,Features

MOTOROLA'S H790 Bluetooth headset is lightweight, comfy, and unobtrusive. The S80 device's chintzy-looking fixed-shape plastic loop isn't flexible for curving around the ear, but MOTOROLA'S H790 grippes small ear just fine. The earbud felts snug inside ear canal; folks with larger ears can try the various replacement earbuds to obtain a better fit. The H790 barely touched my cheek, yet it stays securely attached when moving around .

The H790's sliding power switch shows orange when the unit is switched off andblack when it's powered up.You get a voice announcement of the battery's status when you cum the unit on.Call quality on the H790 is very good—in some cases, better than handset quality. conversations
sounds loud and clear to call recepiencs, and the H790 blocks considerable background noise, such as chaccer, music, and traffic roar. When the ambient noise level peaked, callers could heat indistinct sounds in the background, especially when stops talking.

The H790's power switch is on one side, and its volume buttons ate on the other; getting a feel for the controls took some fumbling around. The main call button—for activating voice commands and for accepting and ending calls—perches at the top of the headset and is easy to maneuver. An $80 headset with solid call quality and background noise elimination, and a comfortable fit, is a good deal.

Nokia Surge:Best Entry-Level Smartphone

NOKIA'S SURGE ($80 with a two-year AT&T service contract) is a great starter smartphone. It has a few design quirks and doesn't feel very sturdy, but you get a nice feature set for a good price. At 3.8 by 2.2 by 0.6 inches, the Surge is highly pocketable; and it weighs a feathery 4.3 ounces. But the handset's plastic body is a dull black, with no color options.

Call quality over AT&T's 3G network sounded great, too. Since the Surge has no separate numeric keypad, however, you must have the slide-out keyboard open every time you dial a number. The Surge's hardware buttons are laid out horizontally, for use with the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. To the right of the display are talk and end/power buttons, with a comfortable directional pad between them. Shortcut keys for browser, home, and e-mail occupy the lower right of the display, but they offer little tactile feedback.

The uncramped keyboard slides out easily, feels solid.and has a generous-size spacebar; but its keys are stiff and difficult CO press. The Surge's Symbian S60 platform supports productivity apps, a handy social networking app called JuiceCaster, and Flash Lite for viewing Web pages that have considerable Flash content. The Nokia Surge offers a lot for the price, but its young target audience may dislike its awkward design and lackluster interface.

Belkin's New Powerline Kit: Fast, but Not Gigabit Fast

POWERLINE networking kits let you connect hardware all over your house to your home network. Theylink your router to a power outlet at one end and to another power outlet else where in the house at the other, turning the outlets into ethernet ports. And unlike most Wi-Fi options, they provide the stable highspeed connections required for HD video streaming. If Belkin's $150 Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit reached its nominal transfer rate of 1000 megabits per second, it would be five times faster than the company's AV+Starter Kit, which claims a link rate of 200 mbps. (In my testing, the AV+ kit averaged 68 mbps,so it hopes that the Gigabit would reach 300 mbps.).

But the new kit's throughput actually ranged from 112 to 157 mbps; and though the Gigabit kit is twice as fast as the AV+ kit, I prefer the latter. Since streaming full HD video from a PC to a
TV requires a transfer rate of only 20 to 25 mbps, the extra speed is mainly useful for tasks like network backup. The Gigabit kit seemed more susceptible than the AV+ kit to interference, too.
And the Gigabit kit's two adapters have one port each (the AVt kit's one adapter has three ethernet ports). Finally, the Gigabit kit can't sit on a desk because it has to plug directly
into the wall.According to Belkin, the Gigabit and the AV+ are interoperable products, but the Gigabit has yet to receive HomePlug AV certification, which would guarantee interoperability.

LINKSYS by Cisco Conductor:Wireless Music, Maestro!

THE $700 LINKSYS by Cisco Conductor (DMC350) is the flagship product in Cisco's suite of networked audio devices. All components of the Linksys by Cisco wireless digital audio suite let you choose your audio sources and where to play the tiles, through an infrared remote provided with each device,or on an optional ($350) Wi-Fi touchscreen remote device called the Controller.

Alternatively, you can tap the Conductor's 7-inch touchscreen display to select music. But Linksys's system is no Sonos killer—in large part because it is subject to Wi-Fi interference. The Conductor has its own amp and speakers, so you can put it anywhere in your home within wireless range of your network (or on a hard-wired ethernet connection). The unit is a little over 3 foot tall, a bit under a foot wide, and about 8 inches deep, and it weighs about 8.5 pounds. Its 800-by-600-pixel touchscreen is easy to read. The speakers produce pleasing sound for casual listening, and an optional SSO dock lets you play iPod music through the device. At times the Conductor played Rhapsody, Internet radio, and local content well, but it suffered inter mittently from balky performance, unresponsive software, and remote control (line-of-sight) limitations.

Renault-Nissan, Bajaj to launch low cost car in 2012

Promising to deliver a small car that will be the cheapest in India in terms of running costs, auto maker Renault-Nissan combine today said they along with Bajaj Auto have finalised an ultra low cost product that will hit the market by 2012.

It's been a while since we've heard an update on the car coming from the joint venture of Renault-Nissan and Indian manufacturer Bajaj, a competitor to the Tata Nano. Carlos Ghosn, Renault-Nissan's CEO, fills us in with a statement that the ULC (Ultra Low Car) project is alive and well. What news do we learn? First, the 2011 release date has been pushed back to 2012. Second, the car is going to cost $3,000 (compared to the Nano's base price of around $2,000) and will still be available in a version that gets 70 mpg. According to Ghosn, the car will be designed, developed and produced by Bajaj, while Renault-Nissan will provide sales and marketing. We surmise that an export model, with either Nissan or Renault (or maybe Dacia) badges, is more than a possibility.

windows 8

Do Microsoft ever stop? With the coming of Linux OS Microsoft has always been under watch. They have suffered and every one thought its going to be the end of windows. XP came out to be a big hit but the latter version the VISTA did not work well with the crowd. This made the others rise. With Linux Mandriva we thought windows is going to die.
But here it strikes again with full force with its Windows 7. But do they stop?
They are set to move on fast and will soon be launching its latest project 'windows 8'.

Windows 8 going to bring 128-bit architecture compatibility (IA-128).

Like the fact that we always thought Windows 7 is going to be the last OS available in two version. Now it seems like Windows 8 is going to be available both as a 64-bit and as a 128-bit built if Microsoft gets it to work.

Even though we know it’s hard not to get excited, keep in mind that this should be taken with a pint of salt as nothing has been confirmed by MSFT.
