windows 8

Do Microsoft ever stop? With the coming of Linux OS Microsoft has always been under watch. They have suffered and every one thought its going to be the end of windows. XP came out to be a big hit but the latter version the VISTA did not work well with the crowd. This made the others rise. With Linux Mandriva we thought windows is going to die.
But here it strikes again with full force with its Windows 7. But do they stop?
They are set to move on fast and will soon be launching its latest project 'windows 8'.

Windows 8 going to bring 128-bit architecture compatibility (IA-128).

Like the fact that we always thought Windows 7 is going to be the last OS available in two version. Now it seems like Windows 8 is going to be available both as a 64-bit and as a 128-bit built if Microsoft gets it to work.

Even though we know it’s hard not to get excited, keep in mind that this should be taken with a pint of salt as nothing has been confirmed by MSFT.

Apple OS X 10.6 :Snow Leopard Roars

Apple has another winner with Mac OS X 10.6, also known as Snow Leopard. This version of the Macintosh operating system is the brainiest, brawniest and most beautiful consumer oriented OS available anywhere and it ships with the best built-in applications and utilities you can find. As its name suggests, this version builds on the strong foundation of OS X 10.5 (Leopard), and offers a smooth upgrade path for existing users (any Intel-based Mac will run it). But you're out of luck
if you still have a PowerPC-based Mac.

The new version looks almost identical to the previous one, so there's no new interface to learn. New features are tucked in unobtrusively on the old interface, so experienced users will find some pleasant surprises in
better-organized pop-up menus, as well as networking options, such as built-in support for Cisco VPN. Snow Leopard was also noticeably faster in my testing and requires less disk space.

Snow Leopard includes a few impressive visual changes, including QuickTime X, a completely new QuickTime player with improved performance, a sleek interface, and support for modern video features such as HTTP streaming. The biggest changes in Snow Leopard, however, are hidden under
its skin. Almost everything uses a new technology called Grand Central Dispatch (GCD), which shares tasks among the multiple cores of modern Intel CPUs and frees developers from the headache of splitting software tasks into separate "threads."

In addition, almost all the applications in Snow Leopard are now written in 64-bit code for greater speed and increased memory access compared to 32-bit apps. Safari already speedy under Leopard now renders JavaScript rich pages faster.

Another major new feature is full support for Microsoft Exchange accounts in Apple Mail, so Mac users now have full access to Exchange's calendar invitations and global address lists instead of using Entourage. Users can also integrate those with the Mac OS Address Book and iCal calendar.
And you get the enhanced Expose feature, which displays reduced images of all open windows at the same time.

The only weakness of Mac OS X 10.6 isn't in the operating system itself but in the range of applications available for it. Snow Leopard gets more things right than any other operating system, and it throws in striking good looks as a bonus.

Apple OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
$29 direct; 5-license family pack, $49.

PROS :Fast Elegant. Superb suite of built-in basic apps. Easy to use for those familiar with previous versions. Silky-smooth upgrading for existing users.
CONS :A few minor interface glitches.Lacks the range of applications and
compatible hardware available for Windows.

Windows 7

Now all the talk about operating systems is being covered up by the widely accepted and well- accoladed Windows 7, which is all set to replace the windows-blunder Vista. Now Vista did have positive, can't deny that but it lacked the cohesiveness. Windows 7 have already been tested out by over a million users with the beta version being out through torrents and other file-sharing sites.Windows 7 has been rated by many as the ultimate OS and the near-perfect OS. It has also been called by Paul Thurrot as "sexy". Now with all these remarks there has to be something up this OS's sleeve.take a look at the desktopits simple enough with a single icon (recycle bin) on the desktop as usual and a transparent taskbar, though i must say the taskbar cud have been btr. More about it coming on.Windows 7 also has a little function that makes open windows transparent so that you can see the desktop as such along with the mouse movements.vb the window swao funstion has been tweaked to show full shot of the windowwe can also preview a minimised window by hovering mouse over itwhilevistaallowed us to minimse copy windows 7 goes on to give us the status of the minimised copy windowanotherattractivefeatureisthepicturegallery, the pic says it all.windows 7 is also reputed to be the most user friendly and secure OS to be out from windows. If you ask me, i say..... go get it.Tags:- Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Xp, OS

HTC shifting owards google android os

The taiwanese mobile makers is planning to release an update to its Touch HD that replace Google's Android as its OS replacing the earlier Windows Mobile operating system. The update is also supposed to have faster 628MHz Qualcomm chip and feature a 3.8-inch touchscreen.

Apparently this shift towards Android is not just out of the blue. the company has released other android based phones like the T-Mobile's G1, which was the first to come out in market with Android OS and the Hero, which was the first Android phone to feature Adobe flash. The T-Mobile has reportedly sold over one million G1 Android smartphones since it came out in 2008.

Eventhough this is the case, the company has not yet released its fingerhold on Windows Mobile OS. Earlier this month they had annouced the HTC Touch Pro2 features which include a 3.6-inch WVGA variable-angle tilting touch-screen,a wide, slide-out keyboard that is larger than its predecessor—and the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Other features likeTouchFlo3D bring information important to the user—such as quick access to contacts, messaging, e-mail and weather—to the top level of the user interface. The battery life has also been increased

2 windows mobile operating systems to come out soon

There has been talks about microsoft releasing its 2 operating systems window 6.5 and 7 within a short interval.windows6.5 is to be out thisoctoberand windows 7 to be out towards the end of next year.apparently this some kind of dual- platformed strategy so that windows can compete with android using the 6.5 andiphoneswith 7. even though there has been a lot of talks about this, microsofthas not yet confirmed the reports.there has been a lot of critizising on this move by windows. some of the views are that it will be only prove harder for them to sell of their os. Moreover thsese os have to be good enough to replace the proven iphones and androids and also should have a visibly obvious difference from each other, so as to differentiate those two
